The Washington Idaho Symphony Announces
Its
Young Artists Competition Final Competition
Pullman, WA - December 5, 2009 - The Washington Idaho Symphony presents the final round of its annual Young Artists Competition onstage at Gladish Community Center's Auditorium. From 9:00 AM until 4:00 PM, 18 of the Northwest's most promising young artists will assemble to compete for a chance to perform as soloist with the Washington Idaho Symphony. Performing before a panel of distinguished adjudicators from all over the Pacific Northwest, each finalist will have 20 minutes to perform their proposed selection. Two winners will be selected and announced at the end of the day at a special Winner's Ceremony. On January 30th and 31st, 2010, both will go on to perform with the orchestra under the musical direction of Maestro Jeremy Briggs Roberts in a program featuring Beethoven's exciting and dark Coriolan Overture and Elgar's deeply moving and poetic Enigma Variations.
This exciting, special one-time event is open to the public. Tickets are available at the door only, and are $5 General Admission.
