Buckle your seatbelts and dare to imagine!
It is my pleasure, as the new Music Director of the Washington Idaho Symphony to welcome you to our 38th season, a year which promises to be an exciting thrill ride through some of music's greatest repertoire. Not only will we showcase the wonderful talents and abilities of the musicians who make up this great orchestra, but we will also feature two brilliant soloists, pianist Jeffrey Savage playing Mozart, and violinist Maria Sampen performing the timeless Brahms Violin Concerto. Together, we will traverse the vast musical landscape, traveling from Mozart's monumental "Jupiter" Symphony to the poignant and moving Enigma Variations by Elgar, from the dark solemnity and depth of Shostakovich's Tenth Symphony to the sensuality and luxuriating sounds of Debussy's Prelude to the Afternoon of a Faun. We are about to embark on an unforgettable sound journey to distant, far-off places sure to delight, challenge, and intrigue your musical senses and spark your imagination.
Please come join me, and the musicians of the Washington Idaho Symphony for what is sure to be a great musical adventure! Jeremy Briggs Roberts
